My work engages events at the margins of history and personal memories bound to place, questioning how they are preserved or lost.
I give form to what is often regarded as insignificant, unspoken, or displaced through bodily actions and material operations.

Throughout my process, I encounter acts of telling by people of different ages and backgrounds, often centered on memories tied to a specific place.
What matters to me is not the verification of historical accuracy, but the moment when a narrative emerges and the process of remembering unfolds in the present.

​

In conversation, fragments of memory—long settled within the body—sometimes rise unexpectedly to the surface.
Memory does not disappear; it seems to remain quietly within the body until the instant it is recalled.

 

Within these tellings, time does not move only forward.
Past, present, and future intersect, and multiple temporalities appear at once, at times extending beyond the speaker’s lived experience.

At the same time, I attend to how personal memories and sensations are framed, expressed, and recorded within social and historical structures.
Through shifts produced by translation, repetition, and difference, I examine what becomes visible and what slips away.

​

Extending these concerns, I am interested in situations where people gather and share time while engaged in making by hand.
Such moments include encounters and dialogue.

​

Within the time where repetition continues, I focus on subtle shifts in the contours of the mind and relationships, unfolding alongside what gradually takes form.

​

I create installations that bring words, objects, light, reflection, and wavering images into relation with the conditions of a site,
where relations and distances arise between perception and the body.

​​場と結びつく歴史の周縁の出来事や個別の記憶が、どのように残され、あるいは失われてきたのかに関心を持ってきた。
取るに足らないもの、語られないもの、言い換えられてしまうもの——そうした不確かな存在を、身体の行為や物質的な操作を通して立ち上げている。

​

制作の過程で、さまざまな年齢や属性の人々の語りに触れる機会がある。
多くは、ある場所に結びついた記憶についての話であるが、私にとって重要なのは、史実としての正確さを検証することではない。
語りが立ち上がり、「思い出す」というプロセスがその場で進行していく、その状態そのものに関心を寄せている。

 

対話の中で、些細な言葉や出来事をきっかけに、身体の奥底に沈殿していた記憶の断片が不意に浮かび上がる瞬間に立ち会うことがある。
記憶は消え去るのではなく、思い出されるその時まで身体の底で静かに留まり続けているのだろう。

 

また、語りの中では時間は必ずしも一方向には進まない。
現在・過去・未来、さらには語り手自身の経験をも超えた時間が交錯し、複数の時間軸が同時に現れる。

 

一方で、個人的な記憶や感覚を起点としながらも、それらが社会的・歴史的な条件の中でどのように語られ、記録されてきたのかに目を向けている。
複数の語りや翻訳、反復のずれの中で、何が可視化され、何がこぼれ落ちてしまうのかを、制作を通して確かめている。

こうした関心の延長として、近年は、人が集い、手を動かしながら時間を共有する状況に着目している。
そのような状況には、他者との出会いや対話が含まれている。

 

反復が続く時間の中で、形を成していくものと重なるかたちで、精神の輪郭や関係性がわずかに変化していく、その過程に関心を寄せている。

 

言葉、オブジェクト、光や反射、像の揺らぎといった要素を場の条件と結びつけ、
見ることと身体のあいだに関係や距離が立ち上がるインスタレーションを制作している。
